Gibbs  Foot Harness

A sewn-in foot Gibbs harness eliminates the problems with attachment and loosening during a climb and provides a comfortable, quick donning, and strong alternative to a tied foot Gibbs system. Mil-Spec 1 3/4 inch wide parachute webbing is used for the foot loop, to which a free-running Gibbs Ascender is attached with 3/4 inch tubular webbing. A piece of 5/8 inch webbing of a contrasting color is inserted inside the 3/4" webbing before sewing; this increases the strength of the attachment while providing a visible wear indicator. A pre-sewn "chicken" loop with quick fit adapter holds the Gibbs and foot loop securely in place at the instep. The chicken loop will rotate to permit use on either foot. Both buckles easily adjust to fit over any size caving boot (5 to 14). The Gibbs Foot Harness may also be purchased with only the cam for those who already own one or more Gibbs ascenders. This provides a more economical alternative by avoiding having to purchase another ascender. $88.95

Foot Loop with Chicken Loop

The Footloop is designed for use with the Mitchell, Frog, Texas, a standard knee harness or any other ascending system utilizing the feet. To provide superior abrasion resistance, long wear, and superior comfort, these loops are constructed of a doubled layer of 1 3/4 inch Mil Spec webbing sewn together throughout their length. A 2 inch gab of single layer webbing is provided at the top for attachment of a sling. A sewn-in "chicken" loop of 1 inch tubular webbing cinches easily around the ankle via a quick fit adapter to hold the loop on securely, even in a full heel-hang. Please specify size and whether the Foot Loop is for left or right. Four Sizes available; Small, with an Inside Circumference (IC) of 13 1/2 inches fits boot sizes 5-7; Medium IC 14 1/2 inches boot sizes 7-9; Large IC 16 1/2 inches, boot sizes 9-11; Extra Large IC 18 1/2 inches, boot sizes 11-13 $14.95

Gibbs Shoulder Harness

As an added safety margin, a third point of attachment should be used/available in a Ropewalker system and is required to maintain an upright position when a chest box is not used. The Gibbs Shoulder Harness provides such a safety. A length of 1 3/4 inch Mil-Spec webbing, attached to a free-running Gibbs, passes over the shoulder and is attached to the back of the seat harness (It is recommended that a short length of 7/16 inch static rope also be tied from the Gibbs to the main seat attachment point for safety.) The back strap is adjustable via a quick fit adapter; by reaching behind and pulling the free end, the harness tightens for climbing; for non-vertical drops, the harness can be removed from the shoulder, but should remain attached as a safety. One size. $86.50
